Daltonganj, April 22: The Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj registered a record admission in first year for the 2021-22 session. Out of the total 100 seats, admission has been completed on the 99 seats. The one seat that lies vacant is of the EWS category.

Inaugurated in the year 2019, the college registered 92 admissions in its maiden session 2019 – 20, along with one medical college each at Hazaribag and Dumka. Following embargo on the admission here by the rating and assessment board of the National Medical Commission, this college could not take any single admission in the first year in the session 2020 – 21.

MMCH Principal Dr Shailendra Kumar said, “Just one seat out of 100 is vacant. We hope to get one here on EWS seat as from tomorrow (April 23) ‘stray counselling’ is to start which will conclude on April 26.”

Sources said one girl student had taken admission on this EWS seat but she was already selected and admitted in the Jamia medical college officially known as Hamdard institute of medical sciences and research Delhi.

Principal Dr Shailendra Kumar confirming this episode of the EWS girl student said if one has taken admission in the All India Quota already, as in this case this EWS girl student did, under no circumstances, such student can obtain TC ( transfer certificate) and take admission in any other college. Such a student is to remain at the first admission medical college.

Dr Shailendra Kumar said this EWS girl who hails from Ranchi has to finally settle down in Jamia leaving our one seat vacant.
