Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to retired IAS officer Vinod Chandra Jha, who was arrested by the ACB for alleged involvement in the illegal sale and purchase of Sevayat land in Hazaribagh district. The court granted him relief after hearing arguments from both sides during Monday’s session.

Case Details and Legal Proceedings

The case against Jha was registered in August under FIR number 9/2025 by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He was arrested in connection with this case. The hearing was held in the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, with ACB’s special public prosecutor Sumit Garodia presenting the case for the prosecution.

Defense Representation and Outcome

Senior advocate R.S. Majumdar argued on behalf of Vinod Chandra Jha. After evaluating the submissions, the court granted bail to the retired bureaucrat, offering him temporary relief in the ongoing investigation.
