Patna: Seat-sharing may have been finalised for the Bihar Assembly elections, but tensions within the NDA have come to the fore as allies remain divided over allocations. Upendra Kushwaha, chief of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and former Union minister, has expressed dissatisfaction over being allotted only six seats, declaring, “Nothing is well in NDA.”
Late-Night Meeting Highlights Strain
On Tuesday night, senior BJP leaders Nityanand Rai and Samrat Choudhary visited Kushwaha’s residence in a bid to pacify him. After the meeting, Kushwaha reiterated his concerns to the media, signalling that the discontent runs deep within the alliance ahead of the November elections.
Shah Steps In as Emergency Meeting Postponed
Amid the growing unease, Kushwaha has been summoned to Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He announced the postponement of his party’s emergency meeting, which was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the Patna party office. Kushwaha and Nityanand Rai are expected to hold detailed discussions with Shah to resolve the differences.
Earlier, following the seat-sharing announcement, Kushwaha had shared an emotional message on social media apologising to his workers and supporters, reflecting the gravity of the internal dispute.
