Patna: A major political storm has erupted in Bihar following the RJD’s humiliating defeat in the 2025 Assembly elections. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, has announced that she is quitting politics and distancing herself from her family, citing growing internal rifts within the Yadav household.
Rohini Blames Tejashwi’s Close Aides
In a social media post, Rohini revealed that she made the decision under pressure from Tejashwi Yadav’s aides Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, whom she accused of forcing her to withdraw from political and family affairs. “I am leaving politics and breaking ties with my family. Sanjay Yadav and Rameez told me to do this, and I’m taking all the blame upon myself,” she wrote.
Her post has triggered turmoil within the RJD, with speculation rife in political circles about deepening tensions between Tejashwi Yadav’s camp and other family members.
Sanjay Yadav Faces Fresh Allegations
Rohini’s remarks have reignited long-standing discontent over Sanjay Yadav’s influence within the RJD. Although she did not name anyone directly, her statements were clearly aimed at Tejashwi’s close circle. This isn’t the first time she has questioned Sanjay Yadav’s role — earlier, she had blamed him for sidelining her brother Tej Pratap Yadav and mishandling family disputes, though the matter was suppressed during election season.
Family Rift Deepens After Election Loss
The fresh feud has once again exposed the cracks within the Lalu family and the RJD’s leadership. With Rohini’s decision to cut ties, the internal discord could have serious political consequences for the party’s future in Bihar. Analysts believe the move signals widening divisions in the post-defeat phase, raising questions over Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership and the party’s unity.
