Patna, Jan 27: Bihar police has filed a FIR against YouTuber Khan Sir and others in relation to violent protests over railway recruitment exam results. Khan Sir, who runs competitive examination coaching sessions, has been accused of encouraging violence during Monday’s rallies.

The FIR was filed based on testimonies made by agitating students who were detained in Patna on Monday and Tuesday.

They allegedly claimed they were driven to commit violence after a video went viral on social media in which Khan Sir allegedly pushed students to agitate on the streets if the RRB NTPC exams were not cancelled.

Khan sir owns and operates the ‘Khan GS Research Centre,’ a notable coaching centre in Patna known for its unusual teaching style. Following the outbreak of violence on Monday, Khan sir is said to have published a video urging students and aspirants to protest peacefully. He claimed that if they resorted to violence, no one would back them up.

On Monday, a big crowd of job seekers gathered at the Rajendra Nagar Railway terminal, disrupting train service for many hours and vandalising railway equipment.

The All India Students’ Union (AISA) and other student organisations have called for a ‘Bihar Bandh’ on Friday to protest suspected anomalies in the NTPC stage 1 exam results released by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).

To address the concerns voiced by job candidates, the railway ministry established a high-powered group. The panel will deliver its report on March 4, according to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

The railway ministry’s decision to organise a committee to look into students’ complaints was dubbed a “hoax” by student organisations.
