Mumbai, April 11: A 16-year-old teenager was taken into custody from Thane district on Tuesday, one day after Mumbai Police received a call threatening to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The Rajasthan-born teenager allegedly called Mumbai Police’s main control room on Monday.
An official stated that the child was arrested when the police, with technical help, tracked the caller’s number to Shahapur in Thane district, 70 kilometres from Mumbai.
When the police got to Shahapur, they took the boy into custody. According to the source, he would be given to the Mumbai police at Azad Maidan for further legal action.
It is still unknown why the teenager threatened the 57-year-old actor with death.
On Monday night, the boy made a call to the Mumbai police control centre and threatened to kill Salman Khan on April 30. “Goushala Rakshak Rocky Bhai” from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was the name of the caller. He also gave the cops instructions to inform the actor about the call.
