Jamshedpur, Aug 7: Industrialist Santosh Khaitan won the president’s post of the state’s largest industrial body, Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA).
The result was declared this evening.
In a keenly contested biennial poll, he defeated his rival Rajiv Ranjan by a margin of 128 votes.
Rajiv Ranjan polled 133 votes while Santosh Khaitan got 261 votes. Four votes were rejected as they were found invalid.
Soon after his win, Khaitan thanked the ASIA members for reposing faith in him to lead the industry outfit.
He also promised the overall development of the Adityapur industrial area, the state’s largest industrial hub.
” Together with the help of the state government we would try to resolve all the issues confronting the industrial area, ” he said, adding that the members had acknowledged the good work done by the last executive committee which he headed as vice-president.
“My aim would be to ensure that the industrialists in the Adityapur industrial area get the best facilities,” he said.
