Daltonganj, May 20: Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar on Friday inaugurated an urban primary health centre at Dandila Khurd.

Dr Kumar said that Palamu was given three urban primary health centres and that the Dandila Khurd primary health centre is the second such centre. The first primary health centre is functioning at Hussainabad.

Dr Kumar further said, “We are looking for space for our third urban primary health centre. The third one may come up in the slum area of Daltonganj.”

Notably, the Dandila urban primary health centre runs in a three-room building of a government institution. When asked if the health department will pay rent in case the urban primary health centre operates in some private building, the civil surgeon said the health department is ready to pay rent.

He further informed that government doctors working with the nearest community health centre will be managing the urban primary health centre as well.
