Ranchi, Sept 11: Security personnel engaged in an anti-Naxal operation on Burha Pahar constructed a bridge to ensure vehicular movement without any hindrance.
This time on Budha Pahar, the police campaign is different from the other campaigns. This time the police campaign is to uproot the Naxals from the mountain. During the campaign, the water of the old river used to be a big problem. The campaign slowed down as the water level rose. In view of this problem, the bridge has been constructed.
To reach the old mountain, one has to cross the old river. Due to the rainy and rocky river, vehicular movement is very difficult on this route. Vehicles have to face a lot of trouble in crossing the river. It becomes very difficult to cross the river after it is filled with water during the rains. A bridge has been built to overcome this difficulty.
A police official said, “the operation was considered important as it came to the knowledge of the government that Maoists are planning again to make Burha Pahar a formidable launching pad of their violence in Latehar, Garhwa etc as this Pahar is an interstate one linking Latehar and Chhattisgarh.”
So far, two Maoists have been killed caches of arms and ammunition recovered. Bunkers and camps were also destroyed.
