Seven die, ten injured after vehicle falls into gorge in Himachal’s Kullu

New Delhi, Sept 26: Seven tourists were killed and ten others were hurt after a tempo traveller in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district slid into a canyon on Sunday evening. The incident happened in the Banjar subdivision close to Ghiyaghi.

“Seven people have been killed and 10 others injured after a tourist vehicle rolled down from a cliff at 8:30 pm on Sunday in the Ghiyagi area of Banjar Valley in Kullu. Five injured have been shifted to Zonal hospital, Kullu & 5 are under treatment at Banjar in a hospital,”Gurdev Singh SP Kullu told ANI.

On Monday at roughly 12.45 am, Surender Shourie, the BJP’s representative in Banjar, announced the accident via a Facebook Live video stream. The incident happened in the Banjar subdivision close to Ghiyaghi.

He added that after receiving first aid, the victims were then transported to Kullu hospital from Banjar hospital. According to the Banjar MLA, the victims were from a number of states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi. Their identities are now being worked out.

Shourie congratulated the community and the district administration for conducting a rescue despite the fact that it was dark.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extends his condolences to the kin of the deceased.

“All possible help is being provided to the injured,” tweets PMO.
