Ranchi: More than a dozen Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the Jharkhand cadre are slated to attend a one-month mid-career training program at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. The Phase-III training for officers from the 2010 to 2017 batches is scheduled to be held from July 21 to August 16, 2025.
Uncertainty Over Participation of Key Officials
The state’s Home Department has issued a letter asking the nominated officers, including Sandeep Singh, Gholap Ramesh Gorakh, Shashi Ranjan, Faiz Aq Ahmed Mumtaz, and Nancy Sahay, to complete their online registration. However, a cloud of uncertainty looms over the participation of several officials on the list. Some of them are currently serving in critical administrative posts, such as District Commissioners, and it is not yet clear if they will be relieved of their duties to attend the training. Furthermore, some of the nominated officers have reportedly undergone similar training recently.
Objective of the Training Program
The Mid-Career Training Programme is a crucial part of an IAS officer’s service, designed to update their skills at various stages of their career. The objective of this training is to familiarize the officers with contemporary management techniques, advanced policy-making frameworks, leadership skills, and the global administrative landscape. This exposure enables them to discharge their responsibilities more effectively upon returning to their respective postings.
