Mumbai, March 21: The makers of ‘Shabaash Mithu,’ featuring Taapsee Pannu as Indian cricketer Mithali Raj, finally released the much-anticipated trailer on Monday.
The film will depict the wonderful moments of Indian cricket on cinema, with a focus on Mithali Raj’s tale and how she guided the women’s side to victory in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2022.

“In a sport dominated by Gentlemen, she did not bother to rewrite history… Instead she created HERSTORY! #AbKhelBadlega #ShabaashMithu Coming soon!,” Viacom18 Studios also announced the teaser release of the movie on Instagram with this caption.
“‘Shabaash Mithu’ is a coming-of-age storey of women’s cricket in India as seen through the eyes of India’s most successful female player.” The film’s official summary reads, “It will document the highs and lows, setbacks and moments of elation of Raj’s life.”
The film, written by Priya Aven, began shooting in Mumbai in April and was completed last month. The famed Lord’s cricket ground in London was used for some scenes in the film. Vijay Raaz, a veteran actor, will play a pivotal part in the film. The biographical film is directed by acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and is supported by Viacom18 Studios.
