New Delhi, Sept 12: Shikhar Dhawan will represent India in the next ODI series against South Africa at home, according to BCCI sources.
Dhawan will take over as captain since players who are headed to the T20 World Cup are expected to receive rest, according to the sources.
This year, Australia will host the ninth instalment of the ICC T20 World Cup from October 16 to November 13. In addition, VVS Laxman is probably going to be coaching the team in Rahul Dravid’s absence.
Starting on September 28, India will take on South Africa in three T20Is and three ODIs.On September 28, Thiruvananthapuram will host the opening T20I. On October 2 at Guwahati, the second T20I will be played. On October 4, the final T20I will be played in Indore.
The ODI series will begin on October 6 in Lucknow, Shikhar Dhawan will captain the team.The second and third ODIs will be held at Ranchi and Delhi, respectively, on October 9 and 11.
