Dhanbad, July 22: Sindri College Sindri, one of the oldest constituent units of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad, has set July 31 deadline for submitting  Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) for second cycle.

Principal of the college Dr KK Pathak held a crucial meeting of the institution’s NAAC committee and assessed the preparation  for finalizing AQAR with  members  of the core  group and directed to send online to NAAC latest by July 31.

Coordinator of  college NAAC preparation committee Dr Sharmistha Acharya, joint coordinator Prof Anil Ashutosh, Dr Sunita Jaiswal, Dr Vishu Meghnani, Prof Nitu Gaurav Kumar, Prof Sumiran Kumar Rajak and Dr Mamta Kumari dished up  preparation report at the meeting.
Principal Dr Pathak at the meeting directed the committee  members to  upgrade the Website online system of the institution, sign an MoU with other academic institutions,  hold an introduction session for newly admitted  students  and take a feedback from them.
Sindri College Sindri set up in 1963 got its first cycle of NAAC grading in  2017 and  is preparing for the 2nd cycle.
“In 2017, the college got ‘B’ grading and narrowly missed ‘A’ grade. However, this time the institution has enough  infrastructure  ( barring faculty members) to get a better grading,” said a senior professor  of the college.

The authorities of Sindri College admitted that  shortage of faculty members is a major  bottleneck in getting a better grade.
There not a single teacher in chemistry and mathematics. Political science, English, botany, zoology, physics and history have single teacher each to hold all the classes.

“Yes, the college has already informed the university for appointment of teachers in crisis ridden  departments so that the institution can  gear up  in full fledge for the NAAC visit,” said a college official.
