New Delhi, May 13: At least six individuals were confirmed dead in North Korea, with over 350,000 people ill with a fever that spread explosively in the country, which had just disclosed its first COVID-19 case since the pandemic began.

According to CNN, North Korea has proclaimed a explosive COVID-19 outbreak that has killed six individuals and infected over 350,000 people.

After reporting its first incidence of COVID-19 Omicron variant on Thursday, the government declared a serious national emergency and established a maximum emergency viral control system, with leader Kim Jong Un vowing to destroy the virus.

According to the Yonhap News Agency, North Korea’s claim of being free of coronavirus has come to an end.

Kim promised to overcome the unexpected crisis in a conference held to review North Korea’s most vital emergency antiviral system, which had been firmly maintained for more than two years. He also ordered all officials to resist any and all attempts to halt the virus from spreading.

According to the Yonhap News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered increased vigilance along the country’s borders on all fronts, in the air, and at sea to avoid a safety vacuum in the country’s national defence. Furthermore, North Korean authorities said that samples taken from fever sufferers were identical to the omicron variant.
