South Eastern Railway to run new weekly special train via Tatanagar

Jamshedpur, Feb 1: With a view to clear the extra rush of passengers, South Eastern Railway has decided to run a weekly special train between Shalimar-Tambaram-Shalimar leaving Shalimar every Thursday from February 2 to March 23 (4 trips) and leaving Tambaram every Saturday from February 4 to February 25 (4 trips). 

08041 Shalimar-Tambaram Special will leave Shalimar at 11.50 pm and will reach Tambaram at 2.45 pm, on the third day.

In the return direction, 08042 Tambaram-Shalimar Special will leave Tambaram at 7 pm and will reach Shalimar at 07.40 am, on the third day. 

The special train will have sixteen Sleeper Class and four General Second Class coaches and will stop at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chaibasa, Dangoaposi and Banspani in South Eastern Railway jurisdiction.

Chotatnagpur Passenger Association and several other railway passenger bodies welcomed the railway’s decision of introducing a weekly special train between the two destinations.
