Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur announced on Tuesday that sports science and performance management systems in the Sports Authority of India(SAI) will be restructured. This decision is taken for the better performance of India in the Olympics.
“ I’m happy to announce the restructuring of sports science and performance management systems in SAI towards better results in the Olympics. Over 300 sports science specialists and high-performance coaches, analysts and other personnel to be hired towards targeted results,” tweeted Anurag Thakur.
SAI held its 55th governing body meeting on Tuesday. In the meeting, the contribution of late boxer Dingo Singh was acknowledged and an amount of Rs 6.87 lakh will be given to his family. In addition to this, it was decided to boost the sporting facility in Kargil, by upgrading the SAI Training Centers(STC).
