New Delhi, Jan 25: The helicopter carrying Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the originator of the Art of Living, had to make an emergency landing this morning in Tamil Nadu’s Erode district due to poor weather. Officials stated that no injuries were reported.
After a brief check, the helicopter took off, according to officials.
“Everyone, including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is safe. The chopper took off after the weather improved,” Erode Collector MR H Krishnanunni said.
In a video posted on the website, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was seen standing with his followers close to the helicopter and mingling with the villagers who had gathered there.
It happened at roughly 10:30 in the morning.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was reportedly travelling to the Sri Brihannayaki Ambika Sametha Sri Andhra Kapaleeshwarar Swamy Temple in Tiruppur district for Kumbhabhishekham when the event occurred, according to a later statement from the Art of Living organisation.
“Due to adverse weather conditions, the pilot decided to make an intermediate stop at Uginiyam. Gurudev and everyone onboard are completely safe. Post this temporary halt Gurudev reached the event and has headed his next engagement as well,” it said.
