St John’s Academy, Hehal Sporting reach semis in Kartik Oraon memorial football tourney

Ranchi, Oct 14: St John’s Academy and Hehal Sporting Ranchi have ensured their position in the semi-finals after they won their quarter-final matches in the 21st Kartik Oraon Memorial Football Tournament 2022.

The first match was played between St John’s Academy and BFC Kokar in which St John’s Academy defeated BFC Kokar 9-8. Amit Sameer, Mayank, Surya, Amar Alex and Rohit scored for St John’s Academy while Shekhar failed to score a goal.

The fourth quarterfinal match was played between Hehal Sporting Ranchi and Sachin Brothers Ranchi where both the teams performed brilliantly. On behalf of Sachin Brothers, Baba scored the first goal in 21 minutes and Devane scored the next in 23 minutes. Hehal also counter-attacked in the 30th minute as Sumit score the first goal for them.

In the second half, Kuldeep levelled the score in the 47th minute and the score remained 2-2 till the stipulated time. Hehal won the match in tiebreaker 6-3. Amit, Sumit, Nitin and Raju Mandal scored for Hehal while Pappu Kumar scored the only goal for Sachin Brothers.

Earlier, in the first and second quarterfinals, Raja Sports Club, Bariatu and Mecon Sports Club confirmed their respective places in the semi-finals.

Notably, the first semi-final will be played between Mecon Sports Club and Raja Sports, Bariatu and the second semi-final will be played between hosts Hehal Sporting vs St John’s Academy.
