Jamshedpur, Aug 23: Steel city residents especially needy and those belonging to humble backgrounds can look for free medical help.

Thanks to the Golmuri-based  Iskcon Temple which has decided to hold a free medical weekly camp every Sunday.

The first such camp was inaugurated by local MLA Saryu Roy yesterday. Iskcon’s Jagannath Temple at Cable Town in Golmuri also celebrated Balaram Jayanti on Sunday.

” The medical camp will be free for all. Apart from consultation, we will also distribute free medicines among the poor and underprivileged, ” said Jagannath Das, a senior functionary of the temple committee.

He said the camp will be attended by ENT specialists, orthopedic doctors, cardiologists and general physicians.

” We will prepare a schedule in consultation with doctors and circulate them through Whatsapp, banners, posters  and other modes of advertisement for public awareness about the medical camp, ” said the official.

Meanwhile, Naman – a city-based social outfit founded by former BJP state spokesperson Amarpreet Singh donated an ambulance for use of local residents.

The air-conditioned ambulance will be used for ferrying patients to hospitals. It will also be used for rushing mishap victims and trauma patients to hospitals.

The ambulance was flagged off last evening in presence of  veteran social activist Harivallabh Singh Arsi and veteran trade union leader Rakeshwar Pandey.

” Ever since its inception the outfit has been carrying out several social activities in and around Jamshedpur. The ambulance is yet another addition in this direction. Those seeking medical help would be benefitted, ” said Arsi.
