Swami Sivananda, Avani Lekhara, Vandana Katariya receive Padma Shri

New Delhi, March 21: Swami Sivananda receives Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind, for his contribution in the field of Yoga on Monday.

Meanwhile, Para-shooter Avani Lekhara receives the Padma Shri award, in the Sports category and Hockey player Vandana Katariya also receives the Padma Shri award today.

At today’s Civil Investiture Ceremony-I at Rashtrapati Bhavan, India’s President, Ram Nath Kovind, presented the Padma Awards.

Notably, the Padma Awards are granted in three categories and cover a wide range of professions and spheres of activity, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medical, literature and education, sports, and civil service. The Padma Awards are divided into three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.

President Ram Nath Kovind today will confered two Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan, and 54 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2022, at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I underway at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Home Ministry had announced the Padma Awards on the eve of 73rd Republic Day.
