Syed Modi International: PV Sindhu defeats Lauren Lam in second round

Lucknow, Jan 20: Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu on Thursday defeated American badminton player Lauren Lam in the second round of the ongoing Syed Modi International 2022 in Lucknow.

Sindhu advanced to the third round of the event by defeating Lauren in straight games (21-16, 21-13) in just 33 minutes.

The Indian shuttler faced a strong challenge from Lauren in the first game, but Sindhu kept control of the essay and won 21-16. Sindhu continued her winning streak in the second game, defeating Lauren 21-13.

PV Sindhu, the former global champion, will seek to maintain her dominance in the third round as well. In the first round, she beat Tanya Hemanth 21-9, 21-9 in in 27 minutes at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium to start her campaign on a high note.
