Jamshedpur, Nov. 28: A Disability Certificate and Aids Distribution Camp was organized in association with Tata Steel Foundation under the SABAL initiative at Sukinda Chromite Mine of Tata Steel Mining Limited.
Disability Certificate was distributed to 65 PWDs (Locomotor Disability– 47, Hearing Impairment/Speech Impairment – 10, Cerebral Palsy – 03, Visual Impairment – 03, autism spectrum disorder – 01, Intellectual Disability – 01) from the Sukinda region.
Aids and appliances distribution was done in collaboration With SV Nirtar to 34 PWDs and 42 PWDs in Sukinda and Kalinganagar regions respectively.
The aids and appliances included 34 tricycles, 8 adult wheelchairs, 2 wheelchairs for children, 21 pairs of axillary crutches, 2 walking sticks and 24 pairs of hearing aids.
The distribution was done based on two days Disability Assessment Camp for Aids & Appliances organized in collaboration with SV NIRTAR, Cuttack earlier in August this year.
Speaking on the occasion Pritiranjan Gharai, minister of Skill Development, Technical Education and Rural Development, Government of Odisha said, “Creating an environment of being inclusive, ensuring dignity and creating empathetic relations is important for the Persons with Disabilities. I am happy that SABAL is promoting this philosophy.”
