Hyderabad, August 21: Candidates have been named for 115 seats in the Telangana Assembly elections, which are anticipated to take place by the end of the year by K Chandrashekar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The leader of BRS and Telangana minister also declared that he would run in the polls from the Gajwel and Kamareddy constituencies.

K Chandrashekar Rao predicted that his party will win between 95 and 105 seats in the Assembly elections when he made the announcement. The Election Commission (EC) has not yet made the election date official.

In a news conference, Rao informed reporters, “BRS will win between 95-105 seats out of the total of 119 in the upcoming assembly polls”. BRS’s friendship with Asaduddin Owaisi, a Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad and AIMIM will continue, KCR also stated while making the declaration.

On seven seats — Boath, Khanapur, Wyra, Korutla, Uppal, Asifabad and Metpally — BRS has switched candidates. The ruling party has not yet chosen candidates for the four seats up for election in Goshamahal, Nampally, Jangaon and Narsapur.

30 of the 115 seats will be up for election by SC/ST candidates.

Six women, including Padma. G. Lasya and Nanditha, Kova Lakshmi, Banot Haripriya Naik, Bade Nagajyothi and Gongidi Sunitha, have received tickets out of the 115 seats.

Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and BRS MLC K Kavitha stated after the announcement that it demonstrated the public’s confidence in the chief minister’s leadership and BRS’s administration.

“Our leader KCR Garu announced 115 exceptional candidates for the forthcoming Assembly elections out of 119 seats. It truly is a testament to the people’s faith in CM KCR Garu’s courageous leadership and the impactful governance of the @BRSparty. We humbly seek the blessings of people of Telangana!!,” she tweet said.
