Jamshedpur, Nov 24: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert for cold waves in Jharkhand today.

According to weathermen, the cold wave intensity would be higher in north-western parts of the state. “Jharkhand is in the grip of the north-westerly wind, resulting in a fall in minimum readings. The minimum temperature is expected to rise by two to three degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours,” said Abhishek Anand, head of Ranchi Met Centre.

He said that the minimum reading would again witness a rise next week.

Met statistics revealed that Daltonganj, Khunti and several other places today recorded around nine degrees Celsius while the capital Ranchi recorded around 12 degrees.

Ramgarh, Simdega and several other districts recorded around 10 degree Celsius while Bokaro recorded around 11 degrees Celsius. Weathermen predicted clear and bright weather in most districts of Jharkhand for the next five days with fog and mist in the morning.
