Patna: The state government will now try to resolve the land dispute on the basis of mutual consent. The idea of ??making a law for this is also going on. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Ramsurat Rai gave this information on Wednesday. He told that there is a land dispute over minor issues. This is affecting the law and order. The use of land is also being disrupted.

Partition will be recognized on the basis of majority

He said that the state government is contemplating to give legal form to consent-based land distribution. At present, its format is being considered. The impediment in the distribution of ancestral land is a major cause of controversy. It may be that the opinion of the majority members of the family should be given legal form. There are 10 members in a family and at least six of them agree on one form of partition. In such cases, the consent form will be prepared and it will be given legal recognition.

Signature of others including the head on the MoU

Rai said that apart from the majority members of the family, the MoU will be signed by the head of the panchayat, the nearest rival of the chief election, ward members and officers-employees of the Consolidation and Revenue Department. If it gets legal recognition, then it will be legally binding for the minority members to accept such a consent form. He said that the survey campaign is going on. It is necessary to settle all types of family land disputes before the start of consolidation.

land mafia went to court

The minister said that the government had decided that in whose name the land is jamabandi, only he can register the land. This was expected to reduce the controversy to a great extent. But, the land mafia challenged this order in the court. Hence it could not be implemented. The government is trying that the court stay in this case should be removed as soon as possible. A big reason for the dispute is that the ryots without jamabandi sell the land. There is a long battle going on for the possession of the land
