‘The Railway Men’: Madhavan, Babil Khan to star in series on Bhopal Gas Tragedy

The Railway Men was announced by YRF today. The show will stream from December 2, 2022.

Mumbai, Dec 2: Yash Raj Films entertainment is stepping into the OTT world. It has announced their first OTT project ‘The Railway Men’, as a tribute to the unsung heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy. The production house just revealed that Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan and R Madhvan will star in their new project. It will stream on December 2, 2022.

The makers of The Railway Men announced the project today to salute the heroes of Bhopal who saved thousands of lives when the crisis hit the city 37 years back.

Notably, Bhopal gas tragedy took place in Bhopal on December 2, 1984, 37 years ago. It has been reported that more than half a million people were poisoned and the official death toll exceeded 5,000 that night.

Announcing the project, the makers wrote, “Courage. Grit. Resilience. Saluting #TheRailwayMen – the unsung heroes of 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy through @yrfentertainment’s 1st OTT project being directed by shivrawailStreaming – 02 December 2022 (sic).”

“The Bhopal Gas Tragedy is the world’s worst industrial disaster that has impacted scores of people since the tragedy struck the city 37 years ago. At YRF, we are constantly trying to develop the best compelling stories for audience and this is our tribute to the unsung heroes of the tragedy who, despite saving thousands of lives on that fateful day, are still unknown to people across the world,” said Akshaye Widhani, Senior Vice President of Yash Raj Films in a press release.
