Dhanbad, Sept 24: Congress leader Ashok Lal, son of former Congress MLA and minister of united Bihar Om Prakash Lal, has received a threatening call from an unknown person for keeping away from party politics.

In his complaint at Katras police station, Ashok Prakash Lal has stated that at around 9.39 p.m. on Thursday while talking to the party supporters at his residence, he received a call from an unknown number on his mobile. The caller threatened him with dire consequences if he (Lal) continued political activities in the region.

“While using filthy words, the caller said that don’t do party politics otherwise he would cut me into pieces,” reported Ashok Lal in his police complaint. He has given the said mobile number through which the call had come to him and requested the police to take action against the criminal.

Later at night he also informed the Senior Superintendent of police, Sanjiv Kumar, about the threatening call and demanded action.
“I am surprised at the threatening call as I have not opposed any person either in party politics or social life,” said Ashok Lal to media.
Ashok Lal has been active in the party and social activities in the Baghmara constituency after the death of his father, veteran trade union leader and three times MLA of Baghmara, Om Prakash Lal last year.

Officer-in-charge of Katras police station, Ras Bihari Lal said that on the basis of the telephone number provided by Ashok Lal, police are now investigating the incident.
