Ranchi, Sept.9: The police have apprehended three for assaulting Doranda college professor in the college campus on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kaushal Kishore informed the breakthrough saying they were apprehended on way to West Bengal. He said that he will be able to share further details in the matter once they reach Ranchi.

While informing regarding the action, the SSP said the police in the Jharkhand capital will not do any compromise with security of the educational institutions and leave no stone unturned for the safety and security of students.

“Shakti Mobile will be strengthened further. It will do regular patrolling in the colleges and educational institutions where girls and women come for getting education,” Kishore, who was SP (city) in Ranchi when the Shakti Mobile app was introduced, said.

Prabharkar, a Jharkhand Andolankari, welcomed the quick initiative in the matter of campus security.

“Strengthening of Shakti Mobile means giving more sense of security,” he said.  He, however, said the administration of educational institutions should also make arrangements to help Shakti Commandos by introducing proper dress code, identity cards and electronic surveillance systems. Apart from this, he said a proper teacher-taught ratio is also required to ensure that the campuses of educational institutions remain guided by experienced teaching and non-teaching staff.
