Truck cleaner shot dead in Ranchi, cash safe

Ranchi, Oct.7: A truck cleaner (Khalasi), Golu, who had returned from Odisha with a truckload of cashew nuts, was shot dead on Wednesday night at Durga Soren Chowk under Namkum police station area.

 

The incident took place when he was sleeping in the truck on the direction of the driver and owner of the truck, Bhagwan Pandit, who had gone to sleep at his residence after unloading the cashew nut at Tatisilwai and parking the truck at the said Chowk.

 

An amount of Rs 25000, which the driver Pandit had received at the unloading point, was found intact in the truck as it was kept secret.

 

Police say three unidentified miscreants reaching on the spot committed the crime and an effort is on to nab them.

 

The Khalasi was the resident of Pandra.
