Ranchi, April 2: A tyre burst claimed one life in Gumla, about 100km from here.
The incident took place near Titra Petrol Pump under Ghaghra block of the district on Friday evening when air was being filled in the tyres of a ten-wheeler truck. The victim was identified as Shravan Chik Baraik, a member of the tribal community. He was the driver of the truck and was standing beside the tyre when the incident took place.
The matter came to the fore today after his body was brought for autopsy at Sadar Hospital of the district and police personnel were heard warning people against overfilling of air.
