Muzaffarpur: The Bihar government has suspended two Deputy Collectors of Land Reforms (DCLRs) over serious administrative negligence and indiscipline. The suspended officers are Sanjay Kumar, DCLR of Muzaffarpur East, and Sadik Akhtar, DCLR of Bettiah Sadar.
During their suspension, both officers will be headquartered at the Tirhut Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Muzaffarpur. Allegations against them include repeated failure to resolve departmental cases on time, ignoring directives from senior officials, deliberately delaying mutation and appeal matters, and using personal login credentials for official government work.
Similar action taken earlier
This is not the first instance of disciplinary action against DCLRs. Previously, Dhirendra Kumar, DCLR of Muzaffarpur West, was suspended on similar grounds. A new officer has since taken charge of his position.
District Magistrate had issued warnings
Muzaffarpur District Magistrate Subrat Kumar Sen had earlier sought explanations from the officers in question. However, after receiving unsatisfactory responses and witnessing a rise in complaints, the department suspended both officers within three days.
