Lucknow, July 20: Dinesh Khatik, the state minister for the Jal Shakti Department in Uttar Pradesh, is rumoured to be thinking about leaving the Yogi government. The Yogi Adityanath cabinet, however, has refuted these rumours. He is said to be angry with the government over the relocation of his officer on special duty PWD Minister Jitin Prasada (OSD).

According to reports, Khatik is upset about the transfers in his department and the FIR against his Hastinapur followers. Swatantra Dev Singh, a minister, is in charge of the division. According to reports, Khatik has left his official home and vehicle and gone into his private home in Hastinapur.

Reports of Khatik’s resignation have been labelled rumours by ACS communications officer Navneet Sehgal. PWD Minister Jitin Prasad, according to sources, is also irate with the state administration over the transfer of his OSD Anil Kumar Pandey, whom the state has sent back to the Center.

The phones of both ministers were off until late on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Jitin Prasada is set to travel to Delhi to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the probe.

Although Jitin Prasada attended the Yogi cabinet meeting on Tuesday, he avoided speaking to the media.
