Two Naxalites killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Sukma, May 8: In an encounter that took place between DRG (District Reserve Guard) jawans and Naxals in the Bheji area of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Monday, two Naxalites were killed, police said.

“Two Naxalites have been killed in the encounter. Superintendent of police Sunil Sharma himself is leading the entire operation,” the Sukma police said.

In the region, there is a search operation going on.

Earlier on May 1, Naxals set ablaze two tipper trucks used for construction in the Sukma district’s Ittapara area, according to Sunil Sharma, SP Sukma.

The incident had occurred within the jurisdiction of the Phulbagdi police station.

Three workers were rescued safely and sent to the Phulbagdi police station, according to SP Sharma.
