Two South Korean air force trainer planes collided in mid-flight on Friday, with three pilots dead and another injured in the rare mishap, Said the authorities.
The air force said in a statement that the crash occurred near the KT-1 aircraft’s base in the southeastern city of Sacheon at approximately 1:35 p.m. (0435 GMT), and that it was investigating any deaths.
According to the Yonhap news agency, three pilots were killed and another was critically injured, citing fire officials.
A search for more than 30 firefighters and rescuers has begun at the crash scene, according to the report.
