Ranchi, Aug 2: With the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 in all the eight state universities of Jharkhand, the admission process has begun for the undergraduate level general courses for four years from 2022-26.

Students all over Jharkhand, who want admissions in UG courses in state universities this year, may visit the Chancellor’s Portal on https://jharkhanduniversities.nic.in to fill out admission forms for the new sessions of 2022-26.

Notably, as an initiative of former Jharkhand Governor, now President Droupadi Murmu, the Jharkhand government had launched the portal for students to provide a common website for Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) enrollment in nine universities of the state.

On the other hand, enrollment in PG-level subjects under NEP 2020 will begin in 2026.

Talking in this regard, Ranchi University Vice Chancellor said, “Till the students studying UG under the new pattern don’t cover the complete syllabus, PG under NEP will not be implemented. Till then, PG courses will run on the old format and will take two years to complete.”

Notably, enrollment in General Courses for the academic session 2022-26 is being done through the Chancellor’s Portal for all eight universities. Under this, vocational courses have been kept separate. The process of enrollment in one-year PG courses will start only after completing the four-year UG course.

Meanwhile, the Jharkhand Academic Board (JAC) has not received any guidelines regarding NEP, due to which the school-level education will remain the same. However, it has been decided to implement it in inter-colleges also. As a result, the new academic session will see inter colleges close under the affiliated colleges of any university.

“Compliance with the National Education Policy has begun in all universities. At Ranchi University, it has been implemented. Enrollment is also taking place for the session 2022-26,” said Dr Rajkumar, DSW, Ranchi University, Ranchi while talking of it to lagatar24.com correspondent.

Meanwhile Dr Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal, Marwari College, Ranchi said, “The benefits of the National Education Policy will start from this session. However, it will be difficult to run Inter sessions in degree colleges. For this, the government should find an alternative solution from now on.”

At present, under the National Education Policy, all universities including Ranchi University and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University are enrolling in UG first semester under this policy. Along with this, Inter enrollment is also being done in the colleges under them.
