Jhansi, April 13: Asad, son of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, carrying a reward of Rupees five lakhs, has been killed in an encounter with the UPSTF team at Jhansi.
In addition to this, another person, Ghulam, with a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on his head, was also killed in the encounter. The encounter was done by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, led by Deputy SP Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal.
“Asad, son of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and Ghulam S/o Maksudan, both wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj and carrying a reward of Rupees five lakhs each; killed in an encounter with the UPSTF team led by DySP Navendu and DySP Vimal at Jhansi. Sophisticated foreign made weapons recovered,” said UP STF in a statement.
