New Delhi, Jan 15: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday has announced the first list of candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Elections. A list of 95 candidates has been released by BJP. The list was released during a press conference by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh in New Delhi.
CM Yogi Adityanath will contest from Gorakhpur, while Deputy CM, Keshav Prasad Maurya will be contesting the election from Sirathu in Prayagraj, announced BJP.
“We are releasing list of candidates on 57/58 seats in first phase and 38/55 in second phase,” said BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

According to rumours, the BJP is considering running the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister from either Ayodhya or Mathura. However, Adityanath has stated that he is willing to run in the assembly elections from anywhere the party’s senior brass chooses.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra Pradhan said that Uttar Pradesh’s incumbent deputy chief minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya, will run from Sirathu.
