Moscow, March 9: The Kremlin said on Wednesday that the United States had launched an economic war on Moscow, citing a barrage of sanctions imposed in response to the country’s military incursion into pro-Western Ukraine.
“The United States has declared economic war on Russia and it is de facto waging this war,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Earlier, President Joe Biden ordered an embargo on US imports of Russian oil, gas, and electricity on Tuesday, in the administration’s most far-reaching move yet to punish Moscow for invading Ukraine.
