Set for England tour with U-19 team
Hailing from Samastipur, Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been selected for India’s Under-19 squad for the upcoming England tour starting June 24. The Indian youth team is scheduled to play both ODIs and Tests against their English counterparts. The encouragement from the PM is expected to be a massive morale boost for the teenager ahead of the international assignment.
Youngest Indian to score fastest IPL century
Vaibhav made headlines during IPL 2025 after scoring a blistering century in just 35 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans—making it the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history. At just 14 years old, he also became the youngest player ever to hit a T20 century.
In his debut IPL season, Vaibhav scored 252 runs in 7 matches at a stunning strike rate of 206.55, including 18 fours and 24 sixes. His very first knock—34 off 20 balls against Lucknow—announced his arrival in style.

With a base price of ₹30 lakh, Vaibhav drew attention at the IPL 2025 auction. He was eventually picked up by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.10 crore after an intense bidding war with Delhi Capitals. The investment has proven worthwhile, given his early exploits and sky-high potential.
