Ranchi, Oct. 26: Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 began at Central Coalfields Ltd from today and will continue till November 1.

The week-long observance, based on the theme “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity” started with pledge taking ceremony at CCL headquarters, Darbhanga House, Ranchi and all operational mining areas, hospitals and other establishments. Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated every year during the birthday week of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The programme commenced with the employee’s integrity pledge which was administered by Director Technical (Operations) V.K Srivastava to mark the beginning of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2021’.

During the week-long Vigilance Awareness campaign, various activities like conducting online seminars, slogan/poster making competition among students, spot painting competition and other vigilance related awareness activities will be carried out in line with the theme of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2021’.

While addressing the employees,  Srivastava said that it is imperative for everybody to be self-conscious and follow a path of integrity and probity in their personal and professional lives. He said that the company is committed to ensuring transparency in its operations. He further added that not doing the work with dedication and discipline also amounts to corruption.

Director Tech(P&P) Bhola Singh motivated the employees to adhere to the spirit of the pledge in their lives. He encouraged the employees to take part in the various programs being organized on the occasion.

Chief Vigilance Officer  S.K.Sinha said that the theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity. ‘

He stated that even a small act of corruption snatches the right of some individuals.  He further added that everybody should work together to make the country corruption-free. He further emphasized that “anti-corruption efforts cannot be successful without the active participation of all stakeholders, especially the public at large.

Sinha also talked about the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of the Informer (PIDPI) Resolution under which, if anyone makes a complaint before the CVC, the CVC takes the onus of keeping the name of the complainant confidential.  He informed the gathering about how the system works without disclosing the identity of a complainant.

A vigilance awareness rath was flagged off on this occasion by Director Technical (Operations) V. K Srivastava, Director Tech (P&P) Bhola Singh, CVO S.K.Sinha,  General Managers, HoDs and employees of the company. The rath will visit the different locations of the state capital and spread the message of corruption-free India.
