Ranchi, Nov.4: Villagers nabbed three robbers who attempted to escape with booty in a village under Thakurgaon police station area. Before the villagers captured the robbers, the latter also opened fire to terrorise the former.

 

S.P.(rural) Naushad Alam confirmed the incident saying an FIR is yet to be registered in this connection.

“The incident took place around 3am. We have recovered two firearms from the possession of robbers and are now trying to recover the booty, a cash bag,” S.P (rural) Alam said confirming the incident.

 

Probed further, S.P.(rural) Alam said: “The matter is under investigation. It will be too early to give any conclusive statement on the matter.”

A villager said that if police had not come, villagers would have lynched the robbers.

 

Thus, asked S.P.(rural) Alam regarding the condition of robbers, he said: “After saving the robbers from mob lynching we admitted them in a local hospital where their condition is out of danger.”
