Dhanbad, Nov 3: Two people got seriously injured after two groups violently clashed for supremacy in Mandra colliery of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) under Barora police station, around 28.8 km away from district headquarters on Wednesday morning.

The injured people were identified as Manoj Yadav and Bhushan Chouhan. Both have been admitted to a private hospital.

In the wake of this violent clash, Baghmara Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nisha Murmu and police officers and personnel of three police stations (Baghmara, Barora and Madhuban) have been camping in the colliery to control the tense situation.

“Situation is under control and police are taking action against those who were involved in the incident,” said the DSP to media.

Barora police station officer-in-charge, Neeraj Kumar, said that the incident reportedly took place around 9.15 am. Before police reached the spot, trouble makers managed to flee from there.

Local people alleged that it was a clash between BJP leader Dhulu Mahto (Baghmara MLA) and JMM leader Karu Yadav. Both groups frequently clash for supermacy in Mandra colliery where Ramvatar outsourcing company is engaged in mining. Both the injured people are supporters of Karu Yadav.

When contacted, the BJP MLA did not receive the call to comment on the alleged involvement of his supporters in the clash.
