Ranchi, Oct 25: Dipping hand in water in case of burn injuries helped a lot in minimizing the cases of serious burn injuries this Diwali in Ranchi.

Director of Dev Kamal Hospital and an alumnus of AFMC, Pune, Dr Anant Sinha, informed this to Lagatar24.com saying out of 48 cases of burn injuries reaching to his hospital since last night till 4pm today one needed hospitalization while others were released from the OPD after minor treatment.

“Disposal from OPD was possible as the majority of the patients had used water treatment before reaching the hospital,” Dr Sinha said.

Asked about one who was hospitalized, Dr Sinha said: “A 12-yr-old boy needed hospitalization as crackers burst in his pocket. He had kept crackers in his pocket secretly. He sustained injuries to his leg.”

RIMS PRO Dr Rajeev Ranjan echoed Dr Sinha saying “out of 35 reaching RIMS with burn injuries not a single needed hospitalization.” “All were disposed of after OPD treatment,” Dr Ranjan said.
