New Delhi, Dec 4: General Syed Asim Munir, the recently appointed Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, declared on Saturday that if his nation were to come under assault, the establishment would protect it and retaliate against the aggressor.
During a visit to the frontline troops of Line of Control (LoC) in the Rakhchikri sector, Munir on Saturday said, “Let me make it categorically clear, Pakistan’s armed forces are ever ready, not only to defend every inch of our motherland but, to take the fight back to the enemy, if ever, war is imposed on us,” the press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted him as saying.
“Any misconception resulting into a misadventure will always be met with the full might of our armed forces backed by a resilient nation,” he said.
This statement came followed Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi’s Tuesday remarks that the Indian Army is prepared to carry out directives like reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. According to Dawn, the Pakistani army chief added that the Indian state would never be able to accomplish its goal and referred to these claims as very irresponsible assertions.
“As far as the Indian Army is concerned, it will carry out any order given by the Government of India. Whenever such orders are given, we will always be ready for it,” said Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Army Commander, on the Defence Minister’s statement of taking back PoK.

The COAS was also briefed on the formation’s operational readiness during his tour, as well as the most recent circumstances along the LoC.
Notably on October 28, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reaffirmed New Delhi’s determination to retake Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), pledging to give all refugees their homes and lands back.
