Will honour his legacy: Akasa Air on Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s death

New Delhi,Aug 14: India’s newest airline, Akasa Air on Sunday expressed its condolences for Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s untimely death and stated that the airline will honour his legacy.

Furthermore, the airline thanked the departed soul for having faith in the company. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, an ace stock market investor and the owner of India’s newest airline Akasa Air, died in Mumbai at the age of 62.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jhunjhunwala’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” the airline said in its condolence message.

He was often referred to as “India’s Warren Buffet,” and he died today in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after a short illness.

Notably, Akasa Air took to the skies of India earlier this month.

Earlier in the day, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia sad in a tweet, “Sh Rakesh Jhunjhunwala Ji was not only an astute businessman, but also passionately invested in India’s growth story. He will be remembered for giving India its new airline Akasa Air after more than a decade. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”
