New Delhi, June 15: Officials of the Delhi Police arrived at the Patiala House Court complex on Thursday, carrying the chargesheet from the FIR filed against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the chief of the WFI, in response to protesting wrestlers’ complaint.
In the court of the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, the Delhi Police on Thursday, Friday, 15 filed their chargesheet in the case pertaining to the sexual harassment accusations made by female wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. According to the complainant, who is the victim’s father, and the victim herself, a cancellation report was produced in the meantime in the case brought by a child.
The chargesheet was filed for assault or use of criminal force against woman with intent to outrage her modesty (section 354), making sexually coloured remarks (section 354A), stalking (Section 354D).
During his conversations with the protesting wrestlers, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had informed them that the chargesheet in the case will be filed by June 15.
Wrestlers have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment.
Thakur had stated that the Wrestling federation would establish an Internal Complaint Committee with a female head.
The protesting wrestlers had stated that they will discuss with their supporters about the outcome of their discussions.
