Jamshedpur, Sept 20: The Conclave Committee of XLRI, Jamshedpur, PGDM (GM) Batch 2023-24 successfully organized KRONOS – CHRO Conclave, with the theme “HR 4.0: Thriving with AI and Metaverse Innovations.”
The event featured a panel of senior HR
professionals who shared insights into AI and the metaverse landscape.
Pranav Verma, Sugandha Singh, and
Md. Shadam Alam moderated the session, while Anukriti Srivastava, Harsh Vardhan, Shalini Bhardwaj and Udit Gupta served as hosts and co-hosts.
The event commenced with an Inaugural address by Fr. Donald D’ Silva, who expressed gratitude to the speakers
for their valuable time and inaugurated the event by facilitating discussions on AI, Metaverse, and virtual workspaces.
He also acknowledged the committee members for their efforts in organizing the KRONOS Conclave.
The first panel discussion, titled “AI Ethics in HR: Striking the Balance,” featured notable speakers Md. Rashid Jaffrey, Chief People Officer, Tata Steel Long Products, emphasized the importance of privacy and culture while
incorporating technological changes and data-driven decision-making in HR. Ramakrishna Vyamajala, CHRO, Home First, discussed AI’s impact on HR strategies, highlighting the need to balance existing talent with new
hires.
Ruchira Bhardwaj, CHRO, Kotak Life, addressed biases arising from AI and the necessity of collaboration
and digital data protection. Abhishek Tiwari, Sr. VP HR, Tech Mahindra, focused on AI’s role in talent acquisition,
virtual offices, and performance management systems, stressing personalized learning and tracking workforce trends.
Neha Dixit, VP- HR, Simpl, emphasized personalized training and the utilization of dark data for driving inferences in HR.
Shanil Verma, CHRO, Turtlemint, discussed AI as a screening tool, legal frameworks, and privacy concerns in organizations.
The second panel discussion, titled “Upskilling and Reskilling in the Metaverse Era,” included the following
speakers Rupesh Tripathi, Partner HR, KPMG GS, highlighted the use of Metaverse for remote training in challenging environments and the potential of AR/VR for personalized learning. Ruchi Dhawan Sharma, VP & Head HR, Indigo, discussed technology adoption in aviation and the role of AR/VR in training customer service agents.
Ashish Bhalla, Director HR, HCL Technologies, emphasized upskilling in a constantly changing environment, alignment, and ROI indicators.
Gaurav Saini, CHRO, HMD Global Nokia Phones- APAC & MEA, talked
about acquiring different aptitudes and upskilling for different roles. Gunjan Joshi, Director Talent Acquisition,
Trident Ltd., discussed technology’s efficiency in removing redundant jobs, with examples from the
manufacturing sector. Karan Lakhani, CHRO, Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd., addressed the integration of
technology with human training and the potential of VR+AI for training packages.
