Tokyo: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath experienced Japan’s cutting-edge transportation technology on the second day of his visit by travelling in a high-speed Maglev train in Yamanashi, capable of reaching speeds of up to 600 km per hour. Calling it the “future of travel,” he shared his impressions of the advanced magnetic levitation system.

Experience of Japan’s High-Speed Innovation

While Japan’s existing bullet trains operate at speeds of around 300 km per hour, the Linear Maglev train runs at 500–600 km per hour using magnetic levitation technology. Yogi described the journey as a remarkable technological experience. During his visit to Yamanashi Prefecture, he also toured a green hydrogen plant and gathered information about technology used to generate hydrogen and electricity from water.

On his way from Tokyo to Yamanashi, Yogi met a Hindu nun named Tulsi, who informed him about her efforts to promote Hinduism and Jainism in Japan. A young child accompanying her greeted the Chief Minister by touching his feet and reciting a Sanskrit mantra. Upon arrival in Yamanashi, he was welcomed by a large number of schoolchildren and local residents, who presented him with a painting.

Visit to Hydrogen and Robotics Facilities, Mount Fuji Tribute

Yamanashi is known for its hydrogen energy initiatives, robotics centres, and high-speed train research facilities. The region is also home to the iconic Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Japan’s highest peak. Sharing a photograph on social media, Yogi described Mount Fuji as a symbol of dedication, discipline, and spiritual balance. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to witness the mountain’s beauty on a sunny day.

Yogi Adityanath has been on an official visit to Singapore and Japan since February 22. This marks his second foreign trip during his nine-year tenure as Chief Minister, the first being his visit to Myanmar in 2017.
