Ranchi, June 24: Nadeem Ansari (24) who was critically injured during June 10 violence in Ranchi was airlifted to Delhi-based Medanta Hospital on Friday for his better treatment. The Chief Minister secretariat informed about this through a press communiqué.

Nadeem was under treatment at RIMS where he was kept on ventilator support. He was among the persons who suffered bullet injuries. As many as eight persons were seriously injured in the riot when a strong frenzied mob attacked police and religious places. Two persons identified as Mohammad Mudassir Alam alias Kaifi, and Mohammad Sahil died due to the police injury.

A PIL was also filed by activist Pankaj Yadav who demanded the case should be probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as Ranchi police are not capable of investigating the case properly.

The court on the previous hearing had issued a direction to the state government to file a reply. The matter was listed for hearing today but it was deferred till July 8 as the Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan sought time from the court to file a reply.
